There are a lot of businesses who are not using up all the office space they have available to them which can be a waste of money. There may be extra space which is unoccupied but it is possible to make money from that unused space. Often there are small businesses out there who just need to have a desk and chair etc but find renting a complete office too expensive. But by sharing office space with another business, everyone can be happy.

 

You can make use of the unoccupied space in your office and make some money from it at the same time. But you must be careful to price your office space appropriately. If you have office space to rent out then it is important that you make the rental space appealing to others. It will obviously have to be a better deal for a business to rent your office space than to rent an office somewhere.

 

But you can increase the charge slightly if you allow the smaller business the use of your copiers, printers or fax machines for example. You can also charge more for allowing the use of internet and phone lines. If you wanted, you could get the phone company to send a separate bill for the phone line they are using.

 

The location of the other business in the office is also important to consider. It would not be appropriate for you to situate them right in the middle of your staff as they will want to have some privacy to run their own business. You will want to make sure that everyone in the office is happy with the arrangements.

 

You will also have to make sure that your office can adequately cope with the provision of toilet and tea and coffee making facilities. So before you decide to go ahead with renting out space you should consider these things first.

 

It doesn’t matter what type of business you run; you will always need some sort of office space to do the admin side of things. Depending where in the world you actually live will determine how east it would be to acquire such offic space.
